StreetKit

iPhone + Canon

The easiest way to do street photography.

StreetKit tethers your Canon to your iPhone over a USB-C cable. Every shot lands on the phone the moment you take it. Show a QR code, they scan it, and the photos are theirs.

Plug the Canon into your iPhone. Take the shot and it is on the phone. Tap the code, Tom scans it with the camera app, and the photos are theirs. The back of a Canon with a USB-C cable in its side port. Your iPhone comes in on the other end of the cable, the camera fires, and the new shot lands at the top of the StreetKit group called Maya and Tom, now 12 shots. The QR code comes up, and Tom's phone comes up in front of the camera and your iPhone, scans the code and opens the page with their photos.

How it works

The fastest way to get your subjects their photos.

  1. Plug in.

A MagSafe mount on the hot shoe, one short USB-C cable. No laptop, no Wi-Fi, no Canon app.

  2. Shoot.

Every shot lands on the phone as you take it, newest first. One group per person you stop.

  3. Show the code.

Each group has its own QR code. They scan it with their camera app. Nothing to install.

The QR screen in StreetKit: the group name Maya and Tom, a large QR code beside three of the shots.
  4. They download.

Previews in seconds. Full quality follows as the originals upload from your phone.

Their page after scanning: the group Maya and Tom with 12 shots and a download button in its header, over the photo grid.
  5. Get their contact.

They already have the raw shots. They leave an email, or sign in with Google, so you can send the edits later.

The Get the edits card on the page a person opens after scanning: Continue with Google, an email box and a Keep me posted button, under the end of their photo grid.

What that gets you

The photos are shared before they walk off.

Skip the burden of uploading the photos later, then trying to match them to your subjects and manually emailing each one.

Seconds, on the spot.

The photo is on their phone while you are still talking.

Nothing to do later.

The sharing is done when the walk is done.

No mix-ups.

One group and one code per person. The right photos go to the right person.

Every shot is on the phone.

Copied to the phone and your Photos library before you take the next one.

Why shoot the street at all

A camera is a reason to say hello.

Two kinds of people shoot strangers on the street. StreetKit is for both.

If you shoot for the love of it

A camera is a reason to say hello. A photo in their hand ten seconds later is a reason for them to remember it. Stop someone, make the shot, hand it over, move on.

If you shoot for a living

Everyone you hand a code to learns your name. The ones who leave an email or a number want to hear from you. Each contact stays next to the photos it came from.
